I started chasing the bird around and every few feet, he would bow down and crouch. When he was cornered, I picked him up and lightly tossed him, he fluttered a bit and started running again. Eventually, flew to high perch and was able to get him to go high p2p 3x before he went to the ground again. Swiping his feet seems to do the trick to get him off the ground. The eye needs treatment so we will keep the young TUVU and this one separate for a few days while we treat. The uropygial gland tips are larger than normal and clogged over. There is a little bruising towards the tip of the gland and I'm not sure if TUVU normally have a wick feather but this bird doesn't have them. Ectoparasites: feather lice Other observations: Extremely beautiful TUVU was eating on roadkill in front of finder's house, was HBC. She was able to box up for us. Exam: Very BAR and feisty. No fractures palpated. Minor wound on U-gland and Left #9 blood feather damaged. Several feathers are in blood, some new, some mature. Some concerns for OU but overall TUVU is in great condition. Got HPAI test. Finished treatment and placed in R10 sm Treatment: Fluids: 50 ml LRS Meloxi: 0.18 ml IM Bronco Food: whole rat
